Reviving an existing Victorain home in a historic neighborhood demands a delicate touch, appreciating the legacy of design + architecture from the past. Our team faced the challenge of preserving the home's inherent charm while modernizing it to foster a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere. Significant structural modifications were undertaken to open up highly segmented spaces. Merging kitchen + sitting areas created conversational nooks, while the incorporation of a wet bar + coffee station offered opportunities for creative beverages. The home, lacking a pantry, was thoughtfully designed to provide ample storage spaces. The large, centrally located island served as a focal point for gatherings, adding both function + aesthetic appeal to the space. The existing closed staircase was reimagined, featuring a partially open design that showcased an open railing and stairs. This design decision unexpectedly added an abundant amount of natural daylight and stunning Geneva Lake views. Our team is absolutely thrilled with the remarkable final result and take great pride in the success of our design!
